ASCTech Announces Launch of VPN

On June 1, 2016, ASCTech launched the new ASC VPN service for use by staff and faculty at Arts and Sciences. The VPN allows for secure access to internal resources like file shares, remote desktop, and SSH (secure shell). The system can be accessed in two ways:
- Browser-based web portal access at vpn.asc.ohio-state.edu, which works on any browser.
- Client-based access by downloading and installing the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client on your Windows- or Mac-based device.
It replaces the previous ASC VPN service, SonicWall, and offers higher capacity and better performance with increased security through The Ohio State University's duo two-factor identification service, BuckeyePass.
