Pelotonia's Team ASC

Terry Bradley and William Cantara

They've got pizza, and they've got pedals. All they need your support.

Team ASC is gearing up for this year's fundraiser, starting with a May 30th pizza and snacks fundraiser in the atrium of the Physics Research Building.

"We're up to 5 volunteers, 4 virtual riders, and 13 riders – including Executive Dean David Manderscheid," says Terry Bradley, Team ASC captain. “We’re delighted to have anyone from in or around OSU join us; there’s no requirement to be employed by Ohio State or be located in the College of Arts & Sciences. If you want to help end cancer, we’d love to have you with us on Team ASC.”

2017 marks the seventh year of Pelotonia participation by Team ASC, formerly Team Physics. In that time, Team ASC has raised over $132,840, which makes Bradley "very proud of what our terrific group has done for cancer research!”

Dr. William Cantara is a Pelotonia Postgraduate Fellow and a five-year Pelotonia participant. His "research involves understanding the underlying mechanisms by which a cancer-causing virus replicates" and for him, Pelotonia is "a reminder of what my work and the work of countless others means to real people in the real world. The signs along the cycling route that read 'Thank you for saving my wife' or 'I wouldn't be here without Pelotonia' are the most powerful encouragement there is."

Good luck on your rides, Terry and William! We're cheering for you.
