Services We Provide
Application Development
When affordable third party solutions don't exist or can't meet the needs of the college, ASC Technology Services' Application Development team will build custom applications based on three basic categories:
- Research
- Educational management
- Social and mobile applications
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
For those in the College looking to leverage AI in their work, the Application Development team provides:
- Free consultation, assessment, and guidance
- AI tools may have additional costs
- Any application development costs vary per project
Digital Accessibility
To ensure all digital materials made in the College are accessible per the Digital Accessibility Policy, the ASC Accessibility Team offers services such as:
- Answer digital accessibility questions
- Software/web site evaluations
- Course content review
- Assigning required awareness training
Emerging Technology Studio (ETS)
The Emerging Technology Studio (ETS) is an incubation space providing advanced tools—including AR/VR, 3D scanning, and AI initiatives—to foster experiential learning and creative problem solving for faculty and students.
Hardware Purchasing
ASCTech offers Hardware Purchase Consultations to help college faculty and staff evaluate, select, and procure the right technology equipment to meet their unique administrative, instructional, or research needs.
High Performing Computing (HPC) for Researchers
Unity is the College of Arts and Sciences' high-performance computing cluster, offering researchers free access to powerful compute nodes and tools for complex data processing and scientific computing.
Infrastructure Services
The ASCTech Infrastructure Services team designs and maintains the college's networking, secure storage, and high-performance computing systems to support academic operations and large-scale research projects.
Risk Management
Risk Management and Governance develops and administers the college’s Information Technology (IT) security and risk mitigation program.
This work includes:
- Identifying IT risks
- Evaluating risks' potential impacts
- Implementing appropriate security controls
- Associated compliance reporting
Support Services
The Support Services team enables instructors and students in the Ohio State College of Arts and Sciences to engage more effectively with instructional technology for:
- In-person courses
- Hybrid courses
- Online courses
Web Services
The ASC Web Services teams offers faculty, staff, and students support for:
- Website creation and redesign consultation
- Drupal CMS support and training
- Analytics access with reports
